Goodbye Sandy Lane!

The end has come for children in y6 because in September they will be going to their new schools. So that means we have to leave Sandy Lane. All of us have had happy times at Sandy Lane. I will now talk about some of my favourite times in Sandy Lane, starting from Reception all the way to Y6.

My memory in Reception isn’t a happy one because I had a teacher called Mrs. Cartwright who I never liked because when I needed a drink she always said “no you can have it at the end of the day.” Also, when I needed to go to the toilet she said to me, “cross your legs” so I never really liked her.

My memory in Y1 is a happy one because the teacher I got was always nice to me and only shouted at me when I was in trouble.

Y2 was awesome as well because as a trip we went to a place called Filey which has a beach. We had a fun time at Filey but the thing I liked most was when we buried Mr. Hitchin in the sand and when we went paddling.

Y3 was ok but it wasn’t that good. The part I liked was the Christmas party because we had a challenge where we had to get a piece of chocolate, put it on our forehead and get it in to our mouths without touching it. 1 person from a class had got chosen and from Delius it was me.

Y4 was good because we went to Old Trafford stadium for a trip and we got to see players, not in real life but on TV. Also we got to see some of the players signatures like Giggs and Rooney. It was AWESOME!!!.

In Y5 we went to York sweet factory where we got to taste lots a chocolates. The one I liked was Kit Kat the one I hated was dark chocolate.

Y6 has been the best year ever for me.

Here’s why:

We have had lots of treats.

We got to go to Robinwood. (residential)

Also we have upcoming trips like Light Water Valley and the ALC sports day.

Mr. Murphy and Miss long.

I wish all of the staff good luck!!!!!!!! And goodbye to Sandy Lane.

Are you Ready… For the Semi?

Tuesday 9th July will be the match of a life time when Netherlands face Argentina in the semi-final.

I know what you guys think… Netherlands are off home. But this is what I personally think (some might agree. Some won’t) Netherlands will go to the final and face either Brazil or Germany.

You might think Netherlands are going to lose in the final again, but this time they have a chance with the improved Robin van Persie and Robben, who have played awesomely throughout the world cup.

As I said before Netherlands or Argentina will face either Brazil or Germany. Now I will be writing about those two teams. Now before you say Germany will lose I think they will go to the final because Brazil have lost Neymar due to injury, so I think it will be Germany.

Brazil v Cameroon

ON MONDAY 23RD JUNE IT WAS BRAZIL AND CAMEROON, UNFORTUNATELY FOR CAMEROON FANS BECAUSE THEY LOST 4-1 TO BRAZIL. THE FIRST GOAL WAS SCORED BY NEYMAR AND SO WAS THE SECOND. HE SCORED THE FIRST GOAL IN 17 MINUTES AND THEN JOEL MATIP SCORED FOR CAMEROON. THEN NEYMAR SCORED AT THE 34th MINUTE, THEY WERE TWO ASTONISHING GOALS BY NEYMER.

THEN AFTER HALF-TIME FRED SCORED AT 49 MINS. THEN FERNANDINHO SCORED AT 84 MINS WHICH WAS THE END FOR CAMEROON. BUT THAT TAKES BRAZIL THROUGH TO THE ROUND OF 16 WITH THEIR RIVALS CHILE.

Man City Win the Premier League

On Sunday the most unbelievable thing happened… Manchester City won the Premier League and got their second cup of the league.

Liverpool thought they had a chance to win but then they drew with Crystal Palace and couldn’t go on. (Now this will really shock you) Liverpool were winning 3-0 but then when there were ten minutes left, Liverpool thought they had it in the bag and suddenly it became 3-3! (“really”) I mean how could that happen in just ten minutes against new comers like Crystal Palace?

They say to Liverpool “you will never walk alone.” Well here’s my slogan to them, “you will always walk alone.”

Anyway Man City won against West Ham 2-0.

The first goal was scored by Samir Nasri and the second was scored by Kompany and those goals made them win the Premier League.

Greenwood Park with the Scouts!

On Monday Foster and Hockney went to Greenwood Park to take part in Scouts activities. The first activity was called shelter building where you had to make a shelter out of a cloth, two big sticks, two small sticks and six pieces of string. We were all split in to ten teams of six. Each team had a mallet to hammer the big and small sticks in to the ground. The time limit was 30 minutes all the teams were ready until Mr Murphy’s shelter fell down at the last minute so one of the Scouts people fixed it and it was back up.

After that the scouts leader taught us how to do the rain dance so the rain could fall down (but really he was holding a bucket full of water) then he told us all to get in to our shelters and then he got a cup full of water and spilt it all over our shelters. It was fantastic!

The next activity was called emergency delivery where you had to deliver post card to the postman who ran away. Once you got 5 stamps off the teachers who kept swapping pens and running away and hiding in the trees (Mr Murphy) then  you had to run to the postman (who was really fast) and make him write your team name on the card then you would keep on getting a card until the game ended. It might have been good for other people but for me it was just an exhausting game.
